How can you get your crew to lift their game and have fun doing it?

The ultimate team building even is about to happen and you can be part of it. Experience the Olympic sport of rowing and develop the sort of teamwork and camaraderie that took the Oarsome Foursome to victory.

• Where: Riverway Rowing Club, Riverway Drive (opposite Santal Drive) Rasmussen
• Who: Business people who like a challenge, some fun, the opportunity to compete against their peers and to benefit from the achievement and corporate exposure of this unique event. Experience is not a prerequisite.
• How: Nominate nine people (eight rowers and a cox), to be groomed under the watchful eye of one of our coaches. Crews maybe all male, all female or mixed.
• Cost: TBA. Nominations must be accompanied by the appropriate fee.

Turning individuals into teams

Riverway rowing Club can help you achieve a sense of personal satisfaction that you may have thought was beyond you. You will utilise the expertise of Riverway coaches to help build the qualities of cohesion, cooperation and strength of spirit which are typical of high performance teams. We have created a training and competition program which will enable a select number of people to learn, or refine, their rowing skills. The training component will help to develop the skill and fitness levels of your staff. The competition phase will provide the opportunity for your crew to compete against other local business crews for recognition as the ultimate team players. The program will cater for all male, all female and mixed crews (we particularly encourage mixed crews to nominate). A handicap system will operate during regattas on Regatta Day to ensure that all crews are competitive.

The program is supported by a comprehensive media plan which will provide an excellent opportunity for corporate exposure in both local news and industry-specific publications. The program will begin with a cocktail party aimed at helping participants become familiar with the club, it’s members and coaches, and fellow program participants.

Training sessions will be held 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks depending on your needs. Sessions will involve instruction in aspects of fitness, rowing technique, ergometer work and race tactics. A mid-program mini regatta, racing over a 750m course, will be held so that benchmark performances can be established.

The program will culminate in a Corporate Head of the River Regatta with “Regatta racing, again over the 750m course”. This event will be followed by a trophy presentation ceremony and social gathering. Regatta Day is your opportunity to put up your hospitality tent and invite your staff and the families, or your clients and entertain them for the day. Hospitality tent sites will be allocated in order that teams nominate, so don’t delay if you would like a prime position.

While the Corporate Rowing Program is primarily intended to help you build a cohesive work team through training, competition and camaraderie it will also provide you with access to the following benefits:

• A cocktail party at the Riverway Rowing Club for all competitors in your team, their partners and four guests per team
• A mini-regatta on the riverbank a week before the Corporate Regatta Day
• The Corporate Regatta which is the ultimate event where you can entertain your guests at your hospitality tent
• A Corporate Regatta polo shirt for every crew member
• A framed photo of your crew
• A unique and spectacular trophy for the winning crew together with an individual trophy for each of the winning crew members
• Press coverage throughout the program
• Networking opportunities with other local businesses
